How to Use Shared Branching
Through Spectrum's membership in the CU Service Centers® Network, members can perform financial transactions at 6,800 credit union branches and self-service locations across the country as if they were in a Spectrum branch.
Here are answers to some common questions about conducting transactions at CU Service Center Shared Branches:
What are the requirements for account access?
You need three things when you visit a CU Service Centers location:
- The name of your Credit Union (Spectrum)
- Your Account Number at Spectrum
- A current, unexpired, valid government issued picture identification with signature
Are there any limits on cash withdrawals?
CU Service Centers are allowed to limit cash withdrawals to $500 per day, though not all do.
How are deposited funds handled?
If you deposit cash, U.S. government checks, or U.S. Postal money orders, the deposited funds are available for immediate withdrawal. All other deposits are normally available for withdrawal within two business days.
What services are available?
Cash Deposits – Rolled coins may not be accepted at all locations.
Check Deposits – All checks must be U.S. dollars and payable through the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank. If you deposit a payroll check, make sure you have your payroll check stub with you to verify your deposit. For jointly filed income tax refund checks made payable to two parties and only one party is the owner of the account, both must be present, both must endorse the check, and both must have proper, valid identification.
Withdrawals – Cash withdrawals may be limited to $500 per day regardless of Spectrum's policy. Check withdrawals are limited to your total amount of available funds authorized by Spectrum.
Loan Payments and Loan Advances – Loan Payments can be made by cash or check. Loan Advances can be made by cash or check; however, the cash limit may be set at $500 per day or by your Line of Credit limit set by Spectrum, whichever is less. You can request a cash advance on your VISA or MasterCard account if the service is available.
Transfers between Spectrum Sub-Accounts – Most CU Service Centers locations can process transfers between Spectrum accounts. Transfers will be handled as a deposit/payment or as a withdrawal/loan advance.
Statement Prints – The last ten transactions will be printed including your balance. This service may not be available at all locations.
Check Withdrawals – Check withdrawals are limited to your total amount of available funds authorized by Spectrum.
Fax Services and Photocopies – These services are available at most CU Service Centers locations.
Money Orders, Traveler Checks, and Notary Services – These services may not be available at all CU Service Centers locations, please call first before visiting the location.
Change of Address or Phone Number – If available, you can complete a change of address and phone number request form. The CU Service Centers location will fax this information to Spectrum to update your information. Please contact Spectrum to confirm that your information has been updated.
Loan Services – If available, you can complete a loan application at a CU Service Centers location and it will be faxed to Spectrum for review. A Spectrum representative will contact you directly on the status of your loan application.
